From flying Black Hawks in combat zones to authoring children’s books about helicopters, aviation has been the foundation of Dr. Kodey Bogart’s career and advocacy.
Dr. Kodey Bogart, AvD, is a helicopter pilot, aviation safety leader, and expert in Safety Management Systems (SMS) with experience spanning both military and civilian aviation. A former U.S. Army Warrant Officer and Black Hawk aviator, she flew medical evacuation missions during Operation Iraqi Freedom and is a decorated combat veteran, having received two Air Medals and the Sikorsky Rescue Award.
She holds an Aviation Doctorate from the Florida Institute of Technology, a Master of Science in Aviation Safety with a specialization in SMS, and a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics with a minor in Helicopter Safety from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Her professional background includes aviation safety leadership, flight instruction, maintenance test flights, helicopter air ambulance operations, and aviation law enforcement support. She holds multiple advanced credentials, including Airline Transport Pilot (ATP)–Rotorcraft, FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI/CFII), and Certified International Safety Manager (CISM®). She is the CEO of KB Aviation Solutions, where she consults with aviation companies across multiple operational environments and disciplines.
Kodey is also the author of the Helo Girls™ children’s book series, created to inspire young readers to explore aviation and STEAM fields through accurate, mission-based storytelling.
In addition, she is the founder and Board President of the Space Coast Women in Aviation Alliance (SCWAA), an organization dedicated to expanding visibility, access, and opportunity for women pursuing careers in aviation and business aviation.
